You might not be able to tell just from looking at it, but, this illustration for the last Drawergeeks was something of a breakthrough for me. Yup. The DG assignment was Harry Potter and I thought, I’m going to do a painting of Harry as if he were banished to a small midwestern satellite town. While looking at some photo reference I took, I just drew it with a sharpie without even doing a sketch. Then I painted underneath the drawing in Painter. For some reason I really like it.
