I was hired to paint a huge 60 foot mural in Downtown Fort Wayne Indiana. Here’s some process photos for how I did it.
The original wall before painting.
After painting in all the color.
Starting to paint in the line work.
Scaffolding comes in super handy for the higher parts.
Using a projector helps get the art work to match the original design.
Helps to have awesome assistants like Tori and Josh.
I made a grid over the design and broke it into 5 parts.
I chopped the design into 5 parts and marked 5 positions on the ground for the projector.
Using a projector means painting a lot at night.
Done! (except for touch ups to do during daylight.)
I still like the way it looks at night though.
Final step, varnishing, with my lovely assistant Noah.
