March 20th, 2008This week’s DrawerGeeks was Game Shows. I don’t know why I decided to go with this, other than it was fun frying an egg and flopping it on the scanner. Click “more” to see some making of stuff.

February 29th, 2008Â Well here he is. I tried some new shading stuff and it worked out pretty good I think. Click “more” for a lil’ bit of making of spiff.
Galactus, 2d or 3d? You be the judge.
February 7th, 2008I did this for the latest drawergeeks. Hit the “more’ button to see a bunch o’ making of crap.
chicken man revisited
February 4th, 2008in t-shirt form, no less. Yeah, I know. I’m going to stop the threadless submissions soon. My work’s clearly not a good fit. In the meantime, I had to give this guy a shot.
penguin pileup
January 24th, 2008A cover I recently did for an educational math book. Super extra double fun job.

a loser’s addiction
January 18th, 2008Yeah, I can’t seem to stop now. Aaaaaaaaaaargh. Anyway, here’s my latest threadless submission, based on my Merlin image. http://www.threadless.com/submission/147996/wielding_green/

January 16th, 2008Mouse Guitar
January 8th, 2008I must be a glutton I guess. My dragon shirt design tanked on Threadless (1.7 out of 5 qualifies as tanking no?). Anyway, I’ve just entered another t-shirt design.  Feel free to vote on it. http://www.threadless.com/submission/146878/Mouse_Guitar
another pooch
January 4th, 2008Here’s another character from the book I’m working on. He’s worried but friendly. Just like me. Click on more for the initial sketch and another view.

Threadlessin’ with the Dragon
December 31st, 2007Yep, I just submitted my first t-shirt design to threadless. If you get a sec, head on over there and give it a vote. That’d be super swell. If I win I’m donating the winnings to the youth group at my church. Wheee!Â
You have to sign up to give it a rating I think. http://www.threadless.com/submission/145939/Squeal_Like_a_Dragon

December 14th, 2007I did this for the latest DrawerGeeks. Click on the “more” link below the pic to see a whole buncha making of stuff if’n you like.

December 6th, 2007Here’s a character from a new children’s book I’m illustrating. All the main characters are dogs, so I’m excited. I like dogs. Anyway, here’s one of the characters. Click on “more” for some, well, more. Here’s the initial character design sketch. Iddn’t he cute?

And here’s a test render of the final model.

Cream Filled Sponge Cake
November 25th, 2007No, not a twinkie silly. I did this awhile ago, but believe it or not, this illustration was actually produced wall sized and installed in the lobby of a Seattle Ad Agency.

cow cow cow cow
November 17th, 2007So, this funky cool blues band from Finland saw my The Last Cow illustration and decided to change their name to The Last Cow and asked if they could use my illustration. A blues band from Finland that changed their name to The Last Cow, how could I say no? You can check out some of their music here: http://www.jjnybergh.com/
Also, don’t forget to check out http://www.thelastcow.comÂ
It’s the only way, really.
November 15th, 2007I did this t-shirt design for the youth group at my church. Yeah, they’re a cool bunch.

Cereal is as cereal does
October 27th, 2007Yep. You guessed it. I’ve been too busy to do any new illustrations. Didn’t stop me from revisiting this one though and hopefully tweakin’ it for the better.

Robird Redux
October 23rd, 2007So I had this illustration from an old Drawergeeks, and I was never fully satisfied with the way it was lit, or its materials. Well I’ve been using custom Mental Ray shaders a lot more recently, so I decided to give it another whack. I’m liking this a lot better. Much more moody/interesting I think. Click it for ze biggie version.
flowering clown
September 10th, 2007For this clown illustration, I wanted to try something different. Click on “more” for some of the process I used to create this guy.

Who me?
September 1st, 2007Here I hopefully am. My first few attempts ended up looking like the guitarist from Genesis. Other than both having beards, Mike Rutherford and I really don’t look much like each other.Â

As long as it’s on sale.
August 18th, 2007The latest Drawergeeks topic was “hotdog stand”, proposed by my chum,  J. Vanhoozer. This illustration’s for you good buddy. Click “more” for some making of stuff.
