FEF

March 20th, 2008

This week’s DrawerGeeks was Game Shows.  I don’t know why I decided to go with this, other than it was fun frying an egg and flopping it on the scanner. Click “more” to see some making of stuff.

faster than a speeding wiener

March 8th, 2008

Another illustration from the book I just finished up illustrating. We actually went to the wiener dog races last summer in Fort Wayne, and they were a total hoot. Click it for a zoom.

chicken man revisited

February 4th, 2008

in t-shirt form, no less. Yeah, I know. I’m going to stop the threadless submissions soon. My work’s clearly not a good fit. In the meantime, I had to give this guy a shot.

penguin pileup

January 24th, 2008

A cover I recently did for an educational math book.  Super extra double fun job.

hoop jumping

January 16th, 2008

Well after my mouse shirt scored a stunning 2.4 out of 5 on threadless, I thought I’d best post on something else. Anyway, here’s an illustration from a children’s book I just finished illustrating.

Mouse Guitar

January 8th, 2008

I must be a glutton I guess. My dragon shirt design tanked on Threadless (1.7 out of 5 qualifies as tanking no?). Anyway, I’ve just entered another t-shirt design.  Feel free to vote on it.  http://www.threadless.com/submission/146878/Mouse_Guitar

Threadlessin’ with the Dragon

December 31st, 2007

Yep, I just submitted my first t-shirt design to threadless. If you get a sec, head on over there and give it a vote. That’d be super swell. If I win I’m donating the winnings to the youth group at my church. Wheee!

You have to sign up to give it a rating I think. http://www.threadless.com/submission/145939/Squeal_Like_a_Dragon

Cream Filled Sponge Cake

November 25th, 2007

No, not a twinkie silly.  I did this awhile ago, but believe it or not, this illustration was actually produced wall sized and installed in the lobby of a Seattle Ad Agency.

cow cow cow cow

November 17th, 2007

So, this funky cool blues band from Finland saw my The Last Cow illustration and decided to change their name to The Last Cow and asked if they could use my illustration. A blues band from Finland that changed their name to The Last Cow, how could I say no? You can check out some of their music here: http://www.jjnybergh.com/

Also, don’t forget to check out http://www.thelastcow.com  :)

It’s the only way, really.

November 15th, 2007

I did this t-shirt design for the youth group at my church.  Yeah, they’re a cool bunch.

Cereal is as cereal does

October 27th, 2007

Yep. You guessed it. I’ve been too busy to do any new illustrations. Didn’t stop me from revisiting this one though and hopefully tweakin’ it for the better.

Robird Redux

October 23rd, 2007

So I had this illustration from an old Drawergeeks, and I was never fully satisfied with the way it was lit, or its materials. Well I’ve been using custom Mental Ray shaders a lot more recently,  so I decided to give it another whack. I’m liking this a lot better. Much more moody/interesting I think.  Click it for ze biggie version.

flowering clown

September 10th, 2007

For this clown illustration, I wanted to try something different. Click on “more” for some of the process I used to create this guy.

Who me?

September 1st, 2007

Here I hopefully am. My first few attempts ended up looking like the guitarist from Genesis.  Other than both having beards, Mike Rutherford and I really don’t look much like each other.

As long as it’s on sale.

August 18th, 2007

The latest Drawergeeks topic was “hotdog stand”, proposed by my chum,  J. Vanhoozer.  This illustration’s for you good buddy. Click “more” for some making of stuff.
