Welcome to Breadwig.com. I’m Bryan Ballinger and I’ve been a freelance illustrator and author for over 15 years. If’n you want to see my illustration portfolio, check out www.bryanballinger.com. Actually my daughter named a toad she found in our backyard “Iffin”. I’m not sure why. But she says he has a restaurant in our garden where he serves bug soup to the bats. Anyway, Breadwig.com is a place for me to sling my cartoons and sketches and new illustrations around. Have fun and let me know what you think.
First up is the zippy, light hearted, and spirit lifting version. And now we have the sloooooow, so you actually see what’s happening, but would probably be boring for anyone who doesn’t care about photoshop layer settings, version.
My buddy Tim Baron’s new graphic novel Julius Destructus that he did with writer Ben Avery is almost out! He asked me to do a fan illustration for the gallery section of his book. Yay! Here it is. I’ve read JD and it’s fantastic! So very good.
To celebrate the new breadwig.com design (which is basically just a much simpler/cleaner version of the old breadwig.com), I decided to do an illustration of one of my favorite cartoon characters. Click on VIEW FULL POST to see how I made it
This is an exploration for another illustration I did for an alphabet children’s picture book. The book is for a charity organization called Tools for Schools Africa. I’m doing the letter “I”. I’ll be posting the final illustration soon, along with some other character explorations.
Vol. One of the graphic novel anthology Parable, that I contributed to is finally out! Yay! You can order it here on AMAZON. It’s a great comic with a lot of great stories by some awesome artists. Here’s the first couple pages of my story in Parable.
